Scrappers Give Thanks

Two favorites for a weekend wrap-up!
Ahh, crazy weekend. Work. Schoolwork. Sensing a trend? The season premiere of Saturday Night Live, which Fiance live-Twittered. Kind of takes the romantic edge off of snuggling on the couch, but umm, SNL does too so he's okay. ;-) I'm still waiting for my season premieres.... Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. More to come on that. I have pics and spoilers and lots of goodies. Oh yes, and last season's DVDs are currently en route to my casa. I think they tried to pull a fast one on us by charging full price when, thanks to the writers strike, they skimped us on half the episodes, but hey, would you really expect anything else? Ahhh, I digress......
So that's my uneventful weekend. Today the internet and cable went out and Jonathan and I realized how boring we are. We have no idea what people did before internet and TV. I would have been cool going upstairs and gettin' crafty or something but him? Well, my boy's not a crafty one unless it's being creative on his web design. Web, internet.... yeah. See the problem? I think he could be crafty if he tried, because he does make me little scrapbook pages sometimes (entirely on his computer!) and they're so cute but yeah, I don't think it's something he's looking to turn into a hobby. He started it when he proposed because I think he knew that would be a surefire way for me not to say NO (just kidding, just kidding....) but it totally melted me, and he still makes them for special occassions or like last fall we had a bonfire, so he took the pictures and made a page on that for my book. Totally way too cute. :) For when he proposed, he had the pages all in a postbound leather MM album and everything - I was so impressed. And then I think I laughed hysterically because 1) I didn't know he had it in him, 2) He seriously went all out on this and it was so cute I couldn't stand it, and 3) I was drugged up on pain meds. Ha! Oh and he was soooo nervous to ask me which was even funnier because we had been together for like what, 3 years?!? Guys are so funny sometimes.... K sorry babe... moving on... ;-)
My new favorite song... (aka, the song I'm currently obsessed with, but take that as you will because the instant I hear a new song that strikes me, I'll forget about this one for awhile... I think this is the 3rd song I've been on this week. I could write a whole post on me and my random "song kicks".... nah, I'll spare you.)
We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes and the flashback starts
I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air
See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns
See you make your way through the crowd
And say hello, little did I know
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
And I was crying on the staircase, begging you please don't go
And I said
Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story, baby just say yes
So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes, let's leave this town for a little while
'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
But you were everything to me, I was begging you please don't go
Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story, baby just say yes
Romeo save me they're tryna tell me how to feel
this love is difficult, but it's real
Don't be afraid we'll make it out of this mess
It's a love story, baby just say yes
I got tired of waiting wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you is fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town
And I said
Romeo save me I've been feeling so alone
I'll keep waiting for you, but you never come
Is this in my head, I don't know what to think
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring
And said
Marry me Juliet you'll never have to be alone
I love you and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad you'll pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby just say yes
{Love Story, Taylor Swift}
And I had a really hard time narrowing it down, but this is my favorite Post Secret from last night. :)

Annnnd even though I'm in a very chatty mood tonight, I have much to do so with that, I will talk to you later. Don't forget I'll have Part 2 of my college series up tomorrow, Part 3 on Wednesday, and I have to share my Grey's spoilers and sneaks, I have some funny election videos (no political arguments here, just fun!), and all kinds of randomness. Oh and pictures. I am so behind on sharing pictures - I need to get them printed. So subscribe because you seriously never know what could pop up next around here..... things are gettin' caaaa-razay!!

homer simpson + dr. mcdreamy!!
K so I took this quiz and couldn't believe the results. Which TV couple are Jonathan and I most like? I never would have guessed what my answers revealed. And so I had my fiance try it himself all by himself. When he got the same result as me, I finally decided they must be right. :)
Marge & Homer Simpson, The Simpsons
Who wouldn't want a love as deep and forgiving as the love between high school sweethearts Homer and Marge? Sure, sometimes he hangs out with the guys too much and sometimes he ends up in the craziest situations, but you aren't immune to a little wacky behaviour yourself. It's never boring at your house, and that's the way you like it. Your relationship will stand the test of time because you're soul mates, plain and simple.Yeah, crazy right?

Patrick Dempsey as Dr. Derek Shepherd, Grey's AnatomySpot on!
Call your mother, you've landed a doctor! And not just any doctor – nicknamed "Dr. McDreamy," the dishy Dr. Shepherd sets hearts aflutter on-and off-screen as he saves lives and breaks hearts all in a day's work.(Even better, he knows his way around your anatomy without the creepy baggage of those guys from CSI). Be warned: he takes his work seriously and medicine must come first. But the happy side effect of that prescription is repeated on-site trysts in hospital stairwells, supply closets and on the other side of that flimsy curtain partition thing. Bonus: Why settle for just one Dr. Shepherd? Hunky Matthew Fox's tortured doctor on Lost fits the bill as Dr. Jack Shephard – take two of these and call me in the morning!

Scrappers? Check out Songbird Avenue. Each month, they offer a phenomenal digital kit and donate the profit to a charity. Last month's charity was the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and I am sooo excited to say by buying a fabulous kit, I did my part in helping them reach a nearly $5,000 donation!! These are the papers, not even including all the elements in the kit!

Crazy how times have changed, isn't it? But then again, some of the things are still the same, or at least they should be. Interesting...

lOtSa sTuFf!
Wow! What a week! It's been just beyond crazy over here. Most of the weekend, I worked on school projects that are coming due in the next month or so. Monday, our professor from Assessment was our "guest lecturer" and it was great. It was the pain/comfort lecture, and since she has a strong history in critical care, she was perfect. Sure beats that other grad student they've been sticking in there. For once this semester, we actually learned something in lecture. We *heart* Mrs. Yoost!!
And today is Wednesday, so that makes yesterday Tuesday, which is lab day, and no shocker here, we once again had a little too much fun. This week, we played GI Jeopardy. Mrs. Fox loves making us play games, so she totally got all into it. We even had the theme song music playing for Final Jeopardy. Nothing like a little game show action to go with intestines, stomas, and enemas! Next week is oxygen, and the following week is urine elimination. Then, it's our last week of lab already (well, before finals at least), and it's our big Care of the Dying Client lecture. That's always a tough subject. I think people would be amazed at how much there is to death.
And in other scrapbooking news, check out Lisa Bearnon's Kit of the Month. I'm usually not totally into these, but this month's was seriously too cute to pass up. Overpriced... maybe.... but definitely too cute. Can't wait to play with all these goodies!

I got this random email from Emily at Boutique Cafe and apparently I won some kind of contest? They posted about these cute little first aid kits for kids, and as a nurse, I couldn't help but post and let them know how cute they were, and I guess my post won me two free kits! I'll definitely be keeping them in my car for when I have the boys and they get themselves into trouble.... which sometimes seems to be often. ;-)
Videochatting on iChat with my dearest fiance!! Gotta love Macs.... Look at this... Awww... Come home from Africa soon!!!!

Tonight - my cousin is here... we're finishing up Evan Almighty (which is actually a lot better than I thought it would be!), then Idol in a few minutes. Duh.... Oh yes, and with pizza. And Cherry Coke. Yep, that's a must.
