Take a few seconds to watch this. It's no wonder our perception of beauty is distorted.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. - Psalm 139:14

- I'm 24, living life with my new liver! Currently spend my days nannying, going to college (working on my BSN-RN) & am honored to be a published writer in a nursing anthology & the AJN. I’m a contributor to many scrapbooking pubs. I love hanging w/my amazing friends & fam. I love my baby puppy Haylie Brooke + our silly doggies Riley & Zoe. In my rare spare time, I read & get crafty. I thrive on organization, my Mac repertoire, learning & absolute fabulosity. My favorite place in the world is Paris. My favorite color is pink. I love being a nurse & I believe each one of my patients is precious. I'm a night owl & wish my lifestyle promoted such habits. I like lazy jammie days. I believe in God and am thankful for His hand on my life. I believe that life is too short to be anything but happy, & i’m thankful that chronic illness has taught me important values that most people learn far too late. I hope that the world will find hope, and my idea of a good day is one in which I made someone smile :)
my transplant journey...
To document an entirely new realm of this crazy miracle called life, please follow my entries on my blog... AMANDA'S JOURNEY In the meantime, this site is under lots of construction while it gets its job as blog back! :)
... as I endure and recover from a life-saving liver transplant. I am transitioning back to this blog for all happenings of my normal life, still using Amanda's Journey for transplant updates.
cuz this is the good stuff
near and dear to my heart...
...because a young donor and his family made a decision that saved my life one day in August, 2010. I received my new liver on August 31.
...because this disease almost killed me.
The sweet little girl in Nicaragua I sponsor, pray for, and correspond with, Julenia. :)

The nitty gritty...
Perspective, Disclosure, Reliability, Courtesy
I do NOT advertise on my blog, nor do I receive any endorsements or compensation of any kind. All opinions stated here are my own and do not reflect the views of any associations or affiliations I may hold. As a nurse, all of my nursing stories are very carefully worded and painfully adapted/altered to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained. I do not use names of patients or coworkers, and I definitely will never name a healthcare facility. I'm a patient as well, so I take this very seriously. On a similar note, if you're here for medical advice, you've come to the wrong place. If you have concerns regarding a heath issue, contact your healthcare provider.
Bottom line, this is my personal blog about my personal life. I love to write, and I am a firm believer in the therapy of writing and the learning that comes from reflecting. If I'm passionate about something, I will write about it. I'm only here to celebrate the crazy miracle we call life. I am trying to do so with utmost honesty and integrity. Please let me know if you have any comments or concerns.
As for my pictures, writings, creations, and other fun things you'll find here? They're ALL original works of ME unless otherwise cited/linked. Just as I strive to cite accurately and with permission, I expect the same from you - you may link to any of my pages, but please be respectful and don't take my images/words as your own. If you'd like to share an image or questionable amount of material, please contact me for permission and cite my blog and I appropriately.
Lastly, as a mini "FAQ" yes - I do allow guest bloggers on my site, just let me know if you have something truly remarkable to share, and yes, if I am passionate about something, I am not opposed to a little guest blogging myself.
Thanks for stopping by.... let's be friends! :)
